Plumber Installs Drain
Both vent size and location is guided by the State Plumbing Code and all drains must have vents. As shown on the left of the picture, a 4” PVC pipe is stubbed up by Mock Plumbing for the toilet drain of this new property.
These pipes are roughed in approximately 12” from the back wall and need to have 18” on both sides either to the nearest wall or fixture. On the right side is a 3” pipe also stubbed up in the wall and will serve as a vent pipe. Since a standard 2 x 4 stud wall would be too small for a 3” vent, a 6” wall is required.
To ensure that proper guidelines are being followed, always check to see before hiring any plumbing company that they’re registered with the Louisiana State Plumbing Board, www.spbla.com, have general liability, and workman’s’ compensation like Mock Plumbing Repairs in Sugar Land, Louisiana.
