Hose Bibs Replacement
Hose bibs are located outside the house and commonly need to be replaced after ten to twenty years. With proper care of hose bibs their working life is usually prolonged. For example, it is not necessary to turn the handle as tightly as one can when turning a hose bib off.
A gasket is present at the end of the stem that seals to a seat and over tightening will be damaging to the gasket. In addition, the handles often become loose or broken and it can sometimes be a challenge to find the correct replacement handle.
Here at Mock Plumbing, we encourage our customers to go ahead and replace all their hose bibs at any first sign of faulty hose bib.
