Gas Pressure Test
When this customer purchased a new home, Mock Plumbing Repairs in Sugar Land, Louisiana was called out to perform a gas pressure test. As shown in this picture, once the gas was shut off, a gauge was applied and the gas system was pressurized to 5 psi.
In order to pass inspection, the system must retain a pressure of at least 3 psi after a 24 hour period. The working pressure for a natural gas system is normally not even 0.5 psi, so if the system is pressurized with at least three times the working pressure it ensures that the system will operate properly.
The following day, the city/parish sent an inspector to verify that the gas system was safe and working properly. This is one of the services that Mock Plumbing can provide fast and safe for homeowners.
