Custom Shower Installation
Before a shower can be tiled a drain line and shower valve must be installed. The drain line is installed on the ‘rough-in’ stage of the building process. Rough-in is a plumbing term defining all drainage and water piping installation that is installed prior to the slab being poured.
Shower drains are to be 2” and are normally located center of the shower when a complete custom shower is being installed. The shower valve or rough-in valve is installed on the ‘top-out’ stage of the building process. Top-out refers to all piping installed before sheet rock can be installed.
