Repair PVC Pipe Leak
This customer in Baton Rouge hired Mock Plumbing to repair the leaking underground pipes. In order to fix one leak, a total of four pipes had to be cut and repaired in this particular job. The PVC water lines failed to hold up to stresses from changes of pressure and temperature including stresses from ground or structure shifts mainly because of substandard quality of work. Mock Plumbing found two leaks formed in these water lines due to not clean cuts in the pipe.
Failure to cut all the way through the pipe left a little bit of material holding the pieces together that were broken or sheared off. The little nipple left did not allow for the pipe to be pushed into the fitting all the way which leads to a stress point in the joint. Whether or not the plumber you hired provided quality work is usually difficult to conclude right away.
More often than not it may take many years for one to realize that the work done by the plumber is good and of high quality. Like in this specific case, it took approximately eight years for the plumber’s poor workmanship to show up.
