Kitchen Sink without Garbage Disposal

It was in the 1970s and 1980s when garbage disposals became a popular luxury household item. The first garbage disposal was invented by Architect John W. Hammes in 1927. Through the company he started, InSinkErator, the first units of garbage disposal were made available for sale in 1938 after 11 years of development. Many cities in the United States had regulations which prohibit the disposal of food waste into their sewage systems. However, the Architect’s company, InSinkErator has convinced many cities in the United States to reverse their decisions of prohibiting disposal of food waste into their sewage systems and allow garbage disposal units to be used. Today, garbage disposals are still a very common kitchen appliance in households throughout the United States. Even most Baton Rouge Residence has a disposal under their kitchen sink, but some choose not to have one due to its disadvantages as mentioned in the previous post.
