Hose Bib Replacement
Hose bibs can be found outside the house or building and after ten to twenty years of use these are generally need to be replaced. However, proper care of hose bibs will usually extend their working life.
One suggestion is when turning a hose bib off; it is not necessary to turn the handle as tight as you can because at the end of the stem there is a gasket that seals to a seat. Tightening it too much is damaging to the gasket.
Also, the handles often become loose or broken and can sometimes be a challenge to find the correct handle for replacement. Here at Mock Plumbing, we advise our customers to go ahead and change all their hose bibs at first sign of any malfunctioning hose bib.
