Galvanized Pipe Neglect
Water lines in houses built in the 1960’s and older are usually made of galvanized steel pipes. Galvanized pipes gain their popularity before due to their endurance. They are built to last a very long time, depending on the environment the life expectancy can range from twenty to fifty years. The life expectancy shortens remarkably if the water that flows into the home is considered “hard” water.
As shown here, rust begins on the surface and eventually builds its way up through the pipe which inhibits water flow. One of the solutions that Mock Plumbing offered is copper re-piping to replace the old galvanized water pipe that has corroded over time. Mock Plumbing is able to address these issues in a safe and effective manner.
